V.I.P. (Very Important Pet) Home Care
About Linda Heaton-Kerman, B. Sc. Linda's Contact Information
A specialized Holistic Practitioner who has an honour degree in zoology and a wealth of knowledge about animal health and behaviour.
Linda is trained to recognize the warning signs of potential health problems and will contact a veterinarian if she feels it is called for. But it is not part of the Harmony Pet Resort’s job to diagnose or to prescribe veterinary care. If your pet does require veterinary aid while they are in our custody, you should be aware that you, as the dog’s owner, are financially responsible for such aid.
Peace of Mind
A day/night stay at Harmony Pet Resort is past 6:00 p.m. regardless of what time your pet is dropped off. (Just like a Hotel.) Check out time is 11:00 a.m. If our guest is picked up before 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure, there is no further charge. If our guest is picked up after 11:00 a.m., and before 6:00 p.m., there is a late pick up charge of $15.00.
Important Health & Safety Requirements
All guests must be current (within one year) on their regular vaccinations (certificate must be shown upon check-in). We do not require dogs to be treated for Bordatella, but we highly recommend it. Every little bit of prevention helps. For the safety and well being of all our guests we require that they be free of contagious diseases upon check-in.
Why Home Boarding Works
I started Harmony Pet Resort because I felt there was a real need for home boarding services in our community.
Many people (including me) don't like the idea of leaving our pet at a kennel where they get little attention, little exercise, and spend the entire time in a cage wondering why Mommy and Daddy left them here. A state of anxiety develops.
At the kennel your dog has to deal with all the distractions. Maybe listening to many stressed dogs barking for hours. And handling the stress of so many new pets and people in a strange area.
While your pet is boarding at the kennel, it is possible that dogs sometimes step in their stools or urine and become dirty. Also, odours from the sanitizing disinfectants may cling to your dog’s coat.
Kennels are a complete opposite of what a pet needs when you are away. Our home boarding services can give them what they need: exercise, love, and socialization so that mom and dad can have a nice time too without worrying about their dog.
What Our Guests Should Bring
Our guests bring their own food because at Harmony Pet Resort we do not want our guests to have upset digestive systems. We will serve the natural holistic diet, if the owner chooses.
A Working Partnership
Be sure to inform us if your dog has any special idiosyncrasies or medical problems, such as a history of epilepsy or fear of thunder, etc. that may aid us in keeping your pet healthy and happy.
Medication can be administered. Our guests are fed at the times specified by the owner. Our guests are let outside on either a leash or outdoor run to do their business as often as the owner wishes.
All
our guests bring home a
Diary
Peticulars
so you can see what
they did on THEIR vacation.
We try to limited registration to 2 dogs at a time, which ensures that your pet will receive the very best care.
Does your pet suffer from: Separation Anxiety or Fear of Storms?
Boarding in a home environment is the best alternative, but separation from master and/or being in strange surroundings can produce stress in your dog. Stress can result in lowered resistance to disease and sometimes even temporary changes in behaviour.
If your pet has idiosyncrasies such as fear of thunder, or has problems adapting to new surroundings may I suggest …Pamper Me!
Pamper Me!
Pamper your pet with our complete contemporary healing modality, Therapeutic Touch. Your pet will feel relaxed and revitalized.
They will love you for this!
What is Therapeutic Touch (TT)?
People when asked how does a Therapeutic Touch treatment feel they will say words like “invigorating,” “refreshing,” and “relaxing.” In addition to making the individual feel great, TT also has the power to heal both body and mind.
A TT treatment usually takes twenty minutes whereby the Practitioner or Therapist moves their hands over the patient and consciously directing energy exchange as a focus for facilitating healing.
As a Practitioner, Linda has been a member in good standing since 1998 to The Therapeutic Touch Network, Ontario to the practice of Therapeutic Touch as develop in the early 1970’s by Dora Kunz and Dolores Krieger, PhD, R.N.
What Can TT Do For My Pet?
TT is very powerful for calming animals that are suffering from idiosyncrasies. Those pets that have stress in being in strange environments or have fear when a storm is approaching will benefit from TT. A treatment will help remove tension and stress from your pet resulting in less potential of undesirable habits or behaviour from occurring.
