THE LYING DOWN POSITION
a) To
lie down in the chair, sit down near the front of the chair and roll slowly
back into it. When in the process of sitting into the chair do not touch
the chair with your hand first, for this will throw the balance of the chair
off.
b) To
sit up in the lying down position, make an indentation into and closer to
the back of the chair and sit straight down,
There is an
in-between position (a+b) where you will recline at a 45 degree angle in the
chair. In this position placing a (feather) cushion behind your head will
give you extra support. Roll the chair at least 90 degrees before each new
sitting: this will loosen up the beads, add a little air, and give you a
totally new moulding.
THE SITTING UP POSITION
After
you have used the chair for a month or two you may wish to use it in the
“Sitting Up” position.
a) Lay
the chair down and push the beads forward thus filling the narrower
cone-shaped end.
b) Stand
the chair up with the cone pointing straight up.
c) Resting
one hand and forearm on the front of the upper middle portion of the chair
and the other hand and forearm parallel on the back, gently
massage 1/3 of the beads from
the cone and create a nest to sit in by applying backward-downward force
with your front hand.
d) Fit
your seat into the nest (again without touching the chair with your hands)
and sit back. By shifting in the chair you will control the shape of your
seating.
e) Bean
bag Chairs can be used much as a recliner: when seated simply push yourself
back. To return to the forward seating style just apply a rowing-type of
movement with your hips.
f) NOTE:
the sitting up position is most effective with with urethane and larger
chairs.
THE BUCKET SEAT POSITION
For
this style of seating bean bag chairs do improve with age. One great
feature of the urethane material is that it stretches well. As the urethane
fabric stretches and the beads settle and compress with use, the chair in
fact become bigger
a) Push
the emptied cone into the middle of the chair and fit yourself into the
nest.
b)
While adopting the philosophy of “don’t take no for an answer” carve your
way around in the chair until your perfect bucket seat is achieved.
